Licking Valley Elementary Art

The importance of an authentic audience:

Throughout the year, as students work in the art studio, they do so with the clear understanding that their work will be hung in a common space in the building for everyone to admire.  This knowledge drives their purpose to create at a high level of creativity, craftsmanship, and excellence.

Art Beat: A January Journey

This year the L.V.E. art community is shaking things up!  In an effort to create a true galley HOP experience, Fall in the Hall is being replaced by a winter art show that aligns with the  L.V. Middle school art show.  Join us January 8th from 5-7pm for art activities, music, and of course an incredible gallery experience!!  All attendees will be issued an art "passport" and can collect stamps for grades K-8 as they visit the elementary and middle school buildings.

Welcome to the L. V. Elementary gallery!  Students in grades
k-5 are creating fantastic works of art that give them voice and experience with a variety of art media.  They are also guided to use the elements and principles of art to become strong visual communicators.  This site celebrates their process and product while allowing them to speak to a broad audience.

"I don't know. I imagine good teaching as a circle of earnest people sitting down to ask each other meaningful questions. I don't see it as a handing down of answers..." -Alice Walker

"I am more than I seem."

An extended tour of some the gallery spaces at the Licking Valley Elementary School building.

This show will feature a large portion of each students' art portfolio including ceramic work and print editions.  Each student will create published work to be hung in independent art spaces throughout the building.
